Random Word Generator: RWG1.4.2 - Google Play

One tap, and you get a word you did not expect: a noun, a verb, an adjective, or any of the three, in any of 74 languages, with as many letters as you allow. Random Word Generator: RWG keeps the whole job on one screen: pick the word language, swipe the part of speech, set the letter range and the amount, and tap the big field. Every draw lands in history, and the words you want to keep go to favorites.

No sign-up, no internet needed for the words themselves, no setup. The lists are inside the app.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE RANDOM WORD GENERATOR: RWG

• 74 word languages, from English, Spanish and German to Japanese, Hindi, Swahili and Javanese, each with its own lists of nouns, verbs and adjectives. The English set alone holds about 2,700 nouns, 1,900 verbs and 1,200 adjectives.
• Part of speech: swipe the switch under the result through «noun», «verb», «adjective» and «any».
• «Minimum letters» and «Maximum letters» from 1 to 100: short words for charades with kids, long ones for spelling practice.
• «Amount» from 1 to 100: one word or a whole list in one tap, and no word repeats within a draw.
• «Listen»: the speaker button reads the words aloud with the system voice of the chosen language, so you hear how «Schmetterling» or «mariposa» actually sounds.
• Long-press the result to copy every word to the clipboard, comma-separated, ready for a story outline, a worksheet or a group chat.
• Bookmark icon: saves the whole set to «Favorites» with one tap, or removes it again.
• «Last Generated»: the previous 500 words stay in the app. Show 30, 50, 100 or 500, long-press to copy, bookmark to keep, or clear the list.
• «Favorites»: up to 500 saved words. Unbookmark the ones you no longer need and tap «Save Changes».
• «Top 100 Words»: for 30 languages, in-app articles with the 100 most common words, nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs, each with transliteration and English meaning. This part needs internet.
• The word language and the interface language are separate: learn Portuguese words in an English interface, or the other way round.
• Your setup persists: language, part of speech, letters and amount are as you left them.
• Light and dark themes, 73 interface languages.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Choose the word language and swipe to «noun», «verb», «adjective» or «any».
2. Set «Minimum letters», «Maximum letters» and «Amount».
3. Tap the field. Tap again for a new draw, long-press to copy, bookmark to keep, or tap «Listen».

PERFECT FOR

• Charades, drawing games and improv: 20 nouns of 4 to 8 letters, and the round is ready.
• Writers and teachers: three random words as a story prompt, or ten verbs for today's exercise.
• Language learners: a daily handful of words in the language you study, heard aloud, then saved to favorites for review.
• Brainstorming and naming: an unrelated adjective next to your problem is often the fastest way out of a rut.

TIPS

• Set «Amount» to 1 and tap repeatedly instead of generating 20 at once when you want to react to each word.
• Keep the letter range narrow, 5 to 7, for guessing games; most common words live there.

YOUR DATA, ON YOUR PHONE

History and favorites are stored locally on the device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. «Clear Last Generated» and «Clear Favorites» wipe either list after a confirmation.
